Reasons for excessive air in hydraulic pumps
Excess air in hydraulic pumps can lead to a variety of operating problems, including overheating, wear and vibration. The following are the main causes and solutions for air buildup in hydraulic piston pumps:
1. Overheating of piston and sealing surfaces
Cause: During operation of a hydraulic Piston Pump, the piston and sealing surfaces may overheat, causing the piston to deform.
Consequence: Due to the increased temperature, this can lead to inevitable damage to the bearings, which in turn can lead to damage to the journals.
Solution: Carefully monitor the bearing temperature. If the specified limits are exceeded, the bearings need to be replaced. Regularly check and maintain proper lubrication to prevent oil deterioration due to heat.
2. Gear and journal overheating
CAUSE: Overheating from contact between gears and wear on gear teeth can lead to bearing and oil seal wear. Gear lash can further exacerbate the problem.
Solution: Adjust gear and oil seal clearances to ensure good lubrication. Periodically inspect and replace worn gears and oil seals.

3. Excessive air in the pump
Cause: Vibration during pump operation is usually caused by too much air in the pump. This can happen if the piston is not installed correctly or is stuck.
Solution:
Air exclusion: completely remove the air from the pump.
ADJUST AIR: Adjust the amount of air in the pump accordingly. If there is too much air, increase the piston gap to 0.15 to 0.20 mm. If there is too little air, replace the pump.
Check and lubricate: Ensure good lubrication and adjust piston gap if necessary. If the pump pressure is too low, adjust the hydraulic pump pressure to ensure that the piston runs smoothly without slipping.
Important Notes
Gear Accuracy: The gears of this series of Piston Pumps are made of high precision machined alloy cylindrical gears with excellent lubrication and high speed rotation capability.
Cooling and Cleaning: If overheating occurs during operation, immediately flush coolant from the bearing housing and check for oil or moisture contamination.
SEALING AND CONTAMINATION: Check for good sealing between the bearing housing and piston. Any signs of leakage or contamination should be addressed immediately.
Vibration and Pressure: If excessive vibration is detected, adjust piston clearance or hydraulic pump pressure to ensure smooth operation.
By following these guidelines and regularly maintaining your hydraulic displacement pump, you can prevent excessive air buildup and ensure efficient, reliable operation.
